About Jeff Langer and Brooke Smith
Secret Meadows Ranch is owned by Jeff
Langer and Brooke Smith, we are located
in north east Texas in the town of
Naples. We have owned 2 Superior APHA
stallions
Encores Secret and WD to a Sheik for
many years. We have shown in APHA/AQHA/PtHA events for several years and have
recently started showing ASPC shetland ponies and AMHR miniature horses. We have
greatly enjoyed showing horses and ponies and are pleased to say that animals we
have bred or shown have earned World and National titles. When we are not
showing horses we enjoy travelling and attending concerts. One of our most
memorable trips has been spending two weeks in Miami to work on the half time
stage crew for The Who's 2010 Super Bowl performance. We like to attend the
Who's performances at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the Teenage Cancer
Trust usually held in March every year.
About Encores Secret
Encores Secret has 137 halter
points. He is a Congress Champion and the winner of the Denver Stock Show. He
has 27 Grands and 12 Reserves, and is an Honor Roll Stallion and High Point
Congress Stallion. Encores Secret was never shown at the World Show. Many people
that have seen him have said that he is the most beautiful stallion they have
ever seen, and we believe it! He has proven himself to be a prepotent sire by
stamping his offspring with his good looks and natural definition. His mother was
known for her beautiful head that she passed to her offspring, Secret continues
to pass this to his offspring as well. Secret has been on the Leading Sires list
of Halter Point earners. He was bred by Jim Eaton of Atlanta, Tx who owns his
World Champion sire Encore. Jim bought Secret's dam Secret Lady from the
Wiescamp's of Colorado. He noticed her on an elk hunting trip and decided that
he had to own her. It took him several years to convince them to sell her, but
when they did he took her home. She raised some of his favorite offspring with
Encores Secret being her most famous son. She was known for her exceptionally
beautiful head which she passed to her son and he continues to pass to his
offspring. Encores Secret was owned by the Penncross Ranch in Kilgore, Tx and by
the Livasy's at Double L Acres in Decatur, Illinois before returning to Texas to
live with us in Naples.
Encores
Secret was on the front cover of the
February 1996 issue of the Southern
Horseman. Inside was a two page article
on the stallion and the PennCross Ranch.

About WD to a Sheik
We purchased WD to a
Sheik a few years ago to add a different
color and bloodline to our APHA breeding
program. With his exceptional show
career and proven offspring record we
thought he would compliment our program
very well. He has proven to be a very
high percentage color sire and adds very
nice toplines and height to his
offspring. He was bought by the
Meadowoods Farm to replace their main
stallion Eternally Sheik and was owned
by them until they retired and sold him
to the Livasys at Double L Acres in
Decatur, Illinois. We brought him to
Texas to stand with us and have enjoyed
the variety of colors and beautiful
offspring he has given us.
